Our vote is on land use actions to allow for this site to compete with other regional applications for a gaming license, and in the alternative, to ensure a site plan that delivers for the public.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/s-sIKdad-uE?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Big Promises on the Horizon<\/h2>\n<p>Provided the Hudson Yards West project sees the light of day, it is expected to attract a number of important community benefits.<br \/>\nThe list includes <strong>a commitment to share 1% of gross gaming revenue with local nonprofits<\/strong> in neighborhoods like Chelsea and Hell\u2019s Kitchen, along with infrastructure upgrades. <\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest financial selling points is the <strong>estimated $2.7 billion in revenue for the struggling Metropolitan Transportation Authority<\/strong> (MTA).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The development is also projected to generate $2.7 billion in revenue for the MTA, providing a much-needed boost for public transit at a time of fiscal uncertainty<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to that, organizers say the project will deliver rental payments and taxes tied directly to the MTA\u2019s rail yard property. <strong>Jeff Blau<\/strong>, Related Companies\u2019 chief executive officer, emphasized what he sees as the broader impact.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Today marks a critical milestone for Hudson Yards West. Thanks to the collaborative process with City Planning, we are closer than ever to delivering on this historic investment in our community<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As expected, however, not everyone is on board. Groups like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehighline.org\">Friends of the High Line<\/a> argue the casino does not belong in this space and would stray too far from the original vision.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alan van Capelle<\/strong>, the group\u2019s executive director<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The community has spoken.
