\"\"Las Vegas casinos are now changing their \u201cdo not disturb<\/em>\u201d policies in response to the call for more stringent security measures after the recent Mandalay Bay shooting<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The worst shooting on American soil took place on October 1, when 64-year- old Stephen Paddock<\/strong> opened fire at oncertgoers who were attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival<\/a> on the Strip, leaving 58 dead and 546 injured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

One of the findings that emerged during the investigation is that Paddock kept the \u201cdo not disturb<\/em>\u201d sign on his door for three straight days prior to his attack. This kept housekeepers from checking in on him and gave him time to prepare the suite for his cowardly attack.<\/p>\n

According to a housekeeper at the Mandalay Bay, the hotel\u2019s policy is that housekeepers are allowed to enter a room with the \u201cdo not disturb<\/em>\u201d sign up only if they are accompanied by a security guard. Resort Security Consulting<\/strong> said there really was no industry-wide standard for how long guests are left alone before hotel staff check on them.<\/p>\n
