{"id":14131,"date":"2024-09-11T10:32:32","date_gmt":"2024-09-11T10:32:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/?p=14131"},"modified":"2024-09-11T10:32:32","modified_gmt":"2024-09-11T10:32:32","slug":"miami-dolphins-tyreek-hill-was-going-20mph-over-speed-limit-citation-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/miami-dolphins-tyreek-hill-was-going-20mph-over-speed-limit-citation-says\/","title":{"rendered":"Dolphins\u2019 Tyreek Hill Was Going 20mph Over Speed Limit, Citation Says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/tyreek-hill-being-arrested-by-miami-dade-police-after-failing-to-comply-with-police-orders.jpg\" alt=\"Tyreek Hill arrested by Miami-Dade police after failing to comply with police orders\" title=\"Miami Dolphins\u2019 Tyreek Hill Was Going 20mph Over Speed Limit, Citation Says\" width=\"300\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-14132\" title=\"Dolphins\u2019 Tyreek Hill Was Going 20 Mph Over Speed Limit, Citation Says\" \/><strong>Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Miami-Dade police citations made public on Tuesday say Tyreek Hill was driving at about 60 mph in a 40 mph area. <\/li>\n<li>The Miami Dolphins player was forcefully pulled out of his car and briefly detained before Sunday\u2019s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. <\/li>\n<li>The officer who handled the encounter has been placed on administrative duties and is under investigation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On Tuesday, the Miami-Dade police released the citations connected to Sunday\u2019s incident when the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/sports-betting\/american-football\/nfl\">NFL<\/a>&#8216;s Miami Dolphins receiver <strong>Tyreek Hill<\/strong> was forcefully pulled out of his Hill&#8217;s McLaren 720S coupe outside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The player was briefly detained for around 15 minutes in the morning before the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. <\/p>\n<h2>Was Tyreek Really Speeding?<\/h2>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JeffDarlington\/status\/1833583556708471122\">police citation<\/a>, the <strong>player was driving about 60 mph on his way to the stadium<\/strong>, according to estimates from the officer who pulled him over. <\/p>\n<p>This <strong>was about 20 MPH over the speed limit<\/strong>, which prompted the officer to forcefully pull him out of his car after asking him to stop the car and place him in handcuffs for about a quarter of an hour after rolling up his window during the traffic stop when he was asked to keep it rolled down. <\/p>\n<p>However, he was not placed under arrest and was <strong>handed two traffic citations, one for careless driving and one for driving without a seat belt, totaling a fine of roughly $300<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the writings of the officer who pulled him over, Hill was speeding in an area with heavy car and foot traffic, a mix of factors that probably resulted in the careless driving citation.<\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pLKRKwmAtt8?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The police department also identified the officer who is now under investigation for his role in the incident. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Danny Torres<\/strong>, who has spent 27 years with the department, has been put under administrative duties for the duration of the investigation. <\/p>\n<p>His attorney issued a statement earlier on Tuesday, asking for his client to be immediately reinstated. <\/p>\n<p>Several critics, including Rosenhaus, have expressed their opinion that the officers who were involved in the incident should be fired.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>That was horrendous how they treated him<\/em>&#8220;, the agent commented on &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=73JUl3MuoHg\">The Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz<\/a>&#8221; podcast. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>They didn&#8217;t treat him like a human being, there&#8217;s no place for (those) police officers to be on the force.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>The Handcuff Move Celebration<\/h2>\n<p>Fans in the area filmed the incident which has since gone viral.
