The Manchester United player left for France for his medical checkup after, according to sources, he agreed to personal terms with fee and add-on included of over \u20ac30 million (\u00a325.2 million)<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The Premier League Club<\/a> have negotiated what they consider an important sell-on clause on the contract that is set to expire in 2029.<\/p>\n

Marseille Received Criticism from City Mayor and Fans<\/h2>\n

Last week, when the club\u2019s intentions to transfer Greenwood became clear, Marseille<\/a> received criticism from the city mayor who asked them not to sign the player, calling the forward’s alleged past behavior “unspeakable<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Greenwood, who spent last season on loan at Getafe, was accused of domestic violence and sexual assault in 2022<\/strong>. According to the UK\u2019s Crown Prosecution Service, the charges against the striker were dropped in February 2023<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The player has previously denied the allegations brought to him. <\/p>\n

In August 2023, he said he \u201cdid not do the things<\/em>\u201d he was accused of and that he \u201cfully<\/em>\u201d accepted that he \u201cmade mistakes<\/em>\u201d in his relationship, taking his \u201cshare of responsibility for the situations which led to the social media post.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

The criticism didn\u2019t solely stop at the city mayor. Team fans took to a popular online forum to discuss the proposed move in an open letter in which they called the player\u2019s joining the club \u201ca red line that would irreparably damage<\/em>\u201d their passion for the club.<\/p>\n

However, Marseille was not deterred from welcoming Greenwood to Roberto de Zerbi\u2019s squad likely for the upcoming campaign.<\/p>\n
