Jones made some controversial calls in selecting Australia\u2019s World Cup squad and it showed as the Wallabies ended up having a poor World Cup and were <strong>knocked out for the first time in World Cup rugby history before the knockout stage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Jones was put under pressure during the 2023 World Cup when he was asked if he was interviewing for a head coach role with Japan while being the head coach for Australia. He initially danced around the questions and did not confirm or deny. But after a lot of pressure he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/australian-rugby-coach-eddie-jones-denies-switching-over-to-japan-and-puts-up-brave-front\/\">admitted that he was not in talks with Japan Rugby Football Union<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jones resigned as head coach of Australia at the end of October.
