The four semi-finalists are New Zealand, defending champions South Africa, Argentina and England.<\/p>\n<p>Australia <strong>played extremely poorly at the World Cup winning just 2 out of their 4 games<\/strong> that eventually led to their elimination in the group stage. <\/p>\n<h2>Australian Fans Still Livid With Wallabies Performance<\/h2>\n<p>Wallabies fans were left frustrated and disappointed not just by how badly their team played but also due to the controversies surrounding head coach <strong>Eddie Jones<\/strong> who was sacked as head coach of England before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/rugby-australia-replace-dave-rennie-with-eddie-jones-ahead-of-2023-rugby-world-cup\/\">taking up the head coach role with Australia in Jan 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/australia-make-big-changes-for-2023-rugby-world-cup\/\">Jones made some controversial decisions in his selection<\/a> for the Wallabies squad as he decided to take a very young squad to the World Cup. In the lead-up to the World Cup, there was also <strong>rumours that Jones had already opened talks with Japan<\/strong> on a potential role as head coach.<\/p>\n<p>Jones refused to deny or confirm this rumour when asked about it and it did not sit well with the Australian fans or ex-Wallabies players. There was <strong>pressure put on <a href=\"https:\/\/australia.rugby\">Rugby Australia<\/a> to sack Jones<\/strong> based on the team\u2019s poor performance in France but Jones wasn\u2019t given the boot.<\/p>\n<h2>Committed To Staying With Australia For Next World Cup <\/h2>\n<p>Jones faced the media on 16 Oct and finally clarified quite a few questions including his potential switch over to Japan.
