The Proteas played well as they put together partnerships that ensured Australia was always under pressure. Australia who pride themselves on their high standard of feeling let themselves and their fans down by <strong>dropping as many as 5 catches in the game<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>They say that catches win matches and by the way the Aussies performed in the field, it was a deciding factor in the game as it helped South Africa put on a commanding total of <em>311<\/em> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espncricinfo.com\/cricketers\/quinton-de-kock-379143\">Quinton de Kock<\/a> scoring 109 from 106 balls.<\/p>\n<p>Australia would have been okay with chasing that total after dropping so many catches but their batting let them down. They were unable to get any partnerships going and their <strong>highest run scorer was Marnus Labuschagne who got out on 45<\/strong>. The Aussies were <strong>bundled out for just 177 in 40.5 overs<\/strong>, making it their biggest defeat in World Cup history.<\/p>\n<h2>Aussies Fans Disappointed At Team\u2019s Performance  <\/h2>\n<p>Aussie fans were very disappointed with their team\u2019s performance as it isn\u2019t just about them losing but the manner in which they lost! Australia <strong>will now need to win 6 out of their remaining 7 games in order to qualify<\/strong> for the World Cup semi-final, a task that is going to be very difficult now!<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/pat-cummins-to-retire-as-aussie-captain-despite-retaining-the-ashes\/\">under pressure Aussie captain Pat Cummins<\/a> said <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Not much needs to be said tonight, everyone\u2019s hurting.
