They alleged that Vilda engaged in micromanagement and was too controlling which was not good for their mental health. They pushed for Spain\u2019s football federation to replace him with a new head coach for the World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Luis Rubiales backed Jorge Vilda and told the women who complained that they could not decide who can or cannot be the head coach of the national team. As a result, <strong>many of the top female players in Spain did not make the cut<\/strong> for the 2023 FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup squad.<\/p>\n<p>When Luis Rubiales was accused of kissgate and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/spanish-football-federation-puts-pressure-on-luis-rubiales-to-resign-after-kissgate\/\">has refused to step down as President<\/a>, Jorge Vilda was one of the big names that came out and supported Rubiales. Vilda would later go on to change his stance and say that Rubiales behaviour was not proper.<\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/atQLzFJvF94?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Spain\u2019s football federation did not provide any explanation as to why they decided to terminate Vilda&#8217;s contract. They did release a statement and thank him for helping Spain win the 2023 FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup and helping them climb to number 2 on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fifa.com\/fifa-world-ranking\/women?dateId=ranking_20230825\">FIFA World Ranking<\/a> (06.09.2023), the highest position that Spain\u2019s women\u2019s football team has reached.<\/p>\n<h2>Spain Appoints Female Head Coach<\/h2>\n<p>Vilda was appointed as head coach back in 2015 and was given a salary hike after Spain won the 2023 FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup. His salary was increased from EUR 160,000 to 500,000 under a new four year contract.<\/p>\n<p>Spain\u2019s football federation has decided to promote <strong>Montse Tom\u00e9<\/strong> who served as
