The two parties are trying to work out the next collective bargaining agreement but are unable to agree on the overall terms and conditions. <\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GbTbhrl9378?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>MLB Calls For Federal Mediator <\/h2>\n<p>MLB brass decided that it is no point continuing to play a waiting game and wait for a fifth meeting with the MLBPA and have another stalemate. The way things stand; it looks like both sides will not be able to find a solution by themselves. This is one of the reasons why the MLB has now called for a federal mediator to step in and help both sides work out an agreement. <\/p>\n<p>A federal mediator is a third party that will look to mediate on behalf of both parties. For a federal mediator to be involved the MLBPA needs to sign-off and as of this writing, the MLBA has not offered an answer. The <strong>Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service<\/strong> will be responsible for providing a mediator in case the MLBPA does agree.<\/p>\n<p>Federal mediators have helped sporting leagues in the past to work out their differences. Three instances that federal mediators have stepped in and worked out an agreement include the lockout in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/sports-betting\/basketball\/nba\">NBA<\/a> in 2011, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/\/sports-betting\/american-football\/nfl\">NFL<\/a> in 2011 and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/sports-betting\/hockey\/nhl\">NHL<\/a> in 2012-2013.
