The NFL has also made a key decision in expanding the regular season to 17 games starting from this season.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/sports-betting\/american-football\/nfl\">2021 NFL season will commence on Sep 9, 2021<\/a> and will finish on Feb 6, 2022. The SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles will host <strong>Super Bowl LVI<\/strong> on Feb 13 while the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas will host the Pro Bowl on Feb 6.<\/p>\n<p>The NFL like most sports leagues around the world is looking to increase its revenues. One of the main ways the NFL is going to do this is to expand its regular season to 17 games. <\/p>\n<p>This decision was discussed for a long time but earlier this week, the NFL approved it after NFL players confirmed they were in favour to the expansion based on their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/nfl-new-collective-bargaining-agreement-to-bring-changes\/\">collective bargaining agreement<\/a> (CBA).<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESPN<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2krOWdvelCM?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To meet the requirements of the CBA, the NFL has decided to reduce the number of preseason games and keep it to 3 instead of the usual 4. The CBA agreement limits the total number of games per season to 20.<\/p>\n<p>NFL Commissioner <strong>Roger Goodell<\/strong> was very happy to see the NFL finally expand its regular season to 17 games and reduce the preseason to 3 games. Goodell said NFL league data showed that most of the player injuries occurred during preseason games. He said the final decision was based on data and scientific facts that worked out well for both the players and the league.<\/p>\n<p>The NFL is also expected to play a minimum of one international game from 2022. The international locations that could host NFL games going forward include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/ca\/legal-canadian-online-betting-sites\">Canada<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/uk\/legal-uk-online-betting-sites\">the United Kingdom<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/mexico\/online-betting\">Mexico<\/a> as well as other countries in Europe and South America.<\/p>\n<h2>NFL Commissioner Wants Packed Stadiums<\/h2>\n<p>Commissioner Goodell also said that he was very optimistic that NFL stadiums would be packed to capacity during the 2021 season.
