Sanders appears to be the frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination.<\/p>\n<p>Bernie Sanders has pledged to increase the taxes paid by the richest Americans to alleviate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/library\/visualizations\/2019\/demo\/p60-266.html\">economic inequality in the U.S.<\/a>, which has increased to its highest level in 50 years, according to a report released by the Census Bureau in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The possibility of a Sanders run has incentivized NFL owners to hammer out an agreement with its players while the market is strong\u2014the labor talks involve the negotiation of media rights worth tens of billions of dollars.<\/p>\n<p>The NFL\u2019s current labor deal is set to expire after the 2020 season. The NFL\u2019s deal with ESPN for \u201c<em>Monday Night Football<\/em>\u201d will expire the following year, the first among many expiring deals. Once a new collective-bargaining deal is secured, the NFL will be free to negotiate for media rights. <\/p>\n<p><strong>NBC 26<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/j96tSnfIjqI?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>NFL owners are also preparing for a potential ratings hit during the 2020 elections. The NFL\u2019s television ratings dropped during 2016 and 2017, which many observers attributed to the 2016 presidential campaign. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/finance-workers-to-work-from-home-to-combat-coronavirus\/\">ongoing coronavirus epidemic<\/a> is also feared to aggravate fears of economic stability worldwide. The <strong>Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/strong> took a roughly 2,000 point hit over the past week as countries such as Iran and South Korea reported their own coronavirus cases\u2014raising the prospect of a global pandemic.<\/p>\n<h2>Resolution Expected This Week<\/h2>\n<p>Last week, NFL owners voted to approve the labor deal\u2019s proposed terms, giving way for players to vote on the terms. The prospective deal increases the share players receive of NFL revenue, increases their minimum salaries, and a reduction of full-contact practices during the offseason.<\/p>\n<p>However, the new terms come with the NFL owners\u2019 insistence on expanding the regular season and postseason\u2014adding up to 17 regular season games to the league schedule. Many NFL players have spoken out against the expansion due to health concerns. <\/p>\n<p>NFL owners have stated that they are willing to forgo a finalized labor deal and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/betting-opportunity\/nfl-2019-season-preview\">play out the 2020 season<\/a> if no agreement takes place.
